For many of these people science and religion can co exist, since they represent different approaches to the same subject (Non-Overlapping Majesteria). Some fundamentalist Christians view the Bible as the ultimate source of truth, God’s Word, and therefore believe that the Universe was created in 6 days, as it says in Genesis Chapter 1 and 2.
